The concept of "Naked Songs" is music stripped down to its bare essence, with just one voice and one instrument.  While loop pedals are cool, they will not be permitted in this show. 

This is not an open mic.  Each showcase will feature several invited songwriters performing up to four of their original songs.  The emphasis is on ORIGINAL music.  Performers are encouraged to play only their own compositions, although they may choose to play one cover song in addition to their originals.

Founded in 2008 by singer/songwriter Justin Trawick, "The 9 Songwriter Series" is a touring live music event based in Washington, DC. The show was created with the idea of nine artists getting together and combining their talents in order to play in nicer clubs and to larger amounts of people. Each installment features nine solo singer/songwriters performing in rotation and often sitting in with each other, providing audiences with a rich, intimate, varied listening experience. Where else can you hear almost 30 songs from nine different artists for only $10? To date, over 60 different artists have participated in "The 9", at events in DC, Arlington, Bethesda, Baltimore, Annapolis, New York City, Richmond, Charlottesville, Charlotte, and Philadelphia. The Fustics are an original Americana/rock band out of Wilmington, NC.  They tour a lot and have come through Richmond several times.  One of our very first public shows was opening for them at the Canal Club.  Very happy to open for them again!  They put on a great show.  Most of the regular Transients are not available for this show, so Haze will be backed by Rod Hyner on drums, John Leedes on guitar, and John Dacey on electric bass.

Five great local bands, one great cause! Haze & The Transients host an all-ages show with Road Kill Roy, Weeping Molly, The Rift, and Whiskey Bros.  Doors open at 7 pm / 8 pm showtime. Proceeds from the show will benefit the Epilepsy Foundation, which works to ensure that people with seizures are able to participate in all life experiences; to improve how people with epilepsy are perceived, accepted and valued in society; and to promote research for a cure. The show is scheduled to happen the weekend before the National Walk for Epilepsy.
